I’m dealing with water seeping into my basement during heavy rains and suspect my downspouts might be the culprit. I’ve checked for clogs and leaks, but I’m still unsure. Can poor drainage or improper downspout placement cause this kind of problem?

I’ve read about the most common downspout problems like blocked outlets, short extensions, or grading issues, but I’m not confident in diagnosing it myself. What’s the best way to check if my downspouts are effectively directing water away from the foundation?
